Everyone else is right. Just to elaborate a bit:
Oscillators *always* oscillate, whether you want them to or not. Hardwired synths (the non-modular kind) hide this from you, but with the flexibility of modulars comes the responsibility of having to do all this minutia manually. Modulars don't take anything for granted, even something as seemingly obvious as "when I'm not playing a note, I want it to quickly fade to silence."
