You're welcome Colum
Chasing hints from others on this thread today, you might want to consider patching yourself the cv/gate voltages: disconnect the two jumpers labelled JP2 (CV bus) and JP3 (gate bus). Both jumpers are located on the backside of the A-190-4 circuit board. (Please refer to page 5 and 19 of the A-190-4 manual). It's surely helpful to newbies to can constantly “view and handle” any patch. Especially because they are basic patches. From interface: the V/Oct straight to VCO, the gate out through an EG into the VCA. If want to use velocity out from the interface you need a second VCA.
Disconnecting the jumpers disables the bus, enables you to have control of the process. The reason why you choose modular synthesis. For instance, you might want soon to mult a gate signal before patching. Before unmount the module remember to switch off and DISCONNECT POWER CABLE. By the way, refer always to the manuals.
Best wishes for your sessions, have fun!Diego

Thank you all for your fast responses.
I had a hunch that the Envelope Generator was the missing link in this alright but didn't think to include the VCA in the patch. I'll try your recommendations when I get home tonight.
Thanks again,Colum
