We noticed that the number of musicians who use their modular system live on
stage has increased during the last time. And many of these A-100 users
recommended to have some functions available with smaller front panels and
smaller knobs to reduce the size and weight of their equipment. For example
last week was an event in Munich (DigitalAnalog) were several artists used
their modular systems live on stage and virtually all of them recommended
that.
The idea behind the new slim modules is not to replace existing modules
(which use the "standard" size of front panels/knobs) but to offer at least
some basic functions also for musicians who ask for smaller modules for
their live equipment.
Of course we will continue with the design of modules with the standard
dimensions but also offer some functions with a smaller footprint.
So there is no need for a discussion which way is the better one. We simply
want to satisfy both parties and every customer has the choice to buy a
module with the standard or slim dimensions.
And at the moment the inquiries are very high for the slim modules. But this
does not mean that we will design only slim modules in the near future.
Other non-slim modules will be releases also in the future (like the A-123-2
24dB Highpass). The slim modules have currently the higher priority but
there are also plans to release non-slim modules in the future (e.g.
frequency shifter II A-126-2, a second logic module with flip-flop and other
logic function A-166-2, fluctuating random voltages, chaos module, a new
sampler module and so on). But at the moment I have no details concerning
release date, detailed features, prices and so on for these planned modules.
Best wishes
