Hi
 > What do people think of the blank panel idea
Doepfer already offers Blankpanels with the whole for the screws
(A100B1/2/4/8), but without wholes for jacks or pots. I would always use
those for selfmade modules, since the position of switches, pots and jacks
will always depend on my circuit layout. Due to the fact I use breadboard
pcbs I cannot place always a pot or jack to where the frontplate would urge
 me.
For my usage there are also two other arguments against the
 5jack5pots-idea:
I create modules, that offer several jacks for one output or a feedthrujack
for each input, so I do not need 5 pots, but e.g. 3 jacks in one horizontal
line at the bottom of the frontplate for the output.
Also the most easy (!) diy projects should be digital modules, that do
require only a few pots but a lot of jacks.
 And last but not least:
People who are able to solder an electronic circuit and add the pcb to the
frontplate mechanically should be able to drill a whole in the frontplate -
 it is not that complicated.
So I would not buy one.
