I wonder if it is a mistake to make the touch keyboard resemble a
regular keyboard at all. I personally want one specifically as a way
to initiate sound events on my modular, like one would do with a
Serge or Buchla touch plate. When I want to play a keyboard, I will
use a proper keyboard. For this purpose, the TKB would be a poor
choice.
My personal preference would be for a more nuetral appearance that
did not suggest an organ keyboard. Having said this, I can't think of
any particular way in which a keyboard-like appearance would detract
from my ability to use it this way, so if other people prefer this,
why not . After all, one of the greatest things about Doepfer's
modulars is that they are equally adept at Serge/Buchla style sound
scuplture as well as Moog/Arp style keyboard playing.
However, Mr. Doepfer's experience at trade shows indicates that the
keyboard-like appearance may lead to confusion about the intended
application of the TKB, and so to dispoointment about its lack of
suitability as an organ keyboard. Maybe this should be changed What
do people think
