I think that there are some differences in the range of random voltages in the SOU vs. the A-117/118 noise source modules,
For example one can make much better choices as to the range in which the voltages appear, how often the occur and one
has the ability to store there variables.
In terms of space and money, one is going to always be running out. This is a problem for all musicians who use electronic
equipment. You have to think about the need for modules in your system.
Because there are very many, you have to decide which will be of value to your music. A modular synthesizer probably
never gets finished, As one desirs more complex sounds more ADSRs, LFOs etc are going to be added.
