Go for the A154 as is then. No point holding up dev work on every thing
else. I'll still buy it.

Subject: 1 some new info from dieter...about
everything...
dieter says:
"thank you for the poll results. We will try to meet
all the requests but we have to discuss the details.
E.g. for the A-154 the suggestions of non-Yahoo group
members are completely different, especially no CV
inputs for first/last step. For the other new
suggested modules (max/min, polarizer) our ideas seem
to cover with the results of the polls (i.e. function
display for the polarizer). At the moment Christian
Assall is about to test the first planned SOU
functions with a modified A-156 Quantizer (some
additional potentiometers and sockets). This saves the
development time for the first prototype. At least the
next two weeks we will be busy with building and
testing the prototype of the new Hammond keyboard we
plan for fall 2003 (yes - there is a life beyond
A-100). After this I hope the prototype pc boards for
the max/min and the VC polarizer module will arrive
and Roland Mayer will be able to built and test the
prototypes. We will even test a modified version of
the A-138a/b. The difference is a jumper for the first
potentiometer so that it could be used as offset
control provided that no plug is connected to the
corresponding socket, and an additional inverted
output.
One important question is if we will redesign the
A-154 (add. CVs and controls for first/last step) or
publish it as it is. The A-154 in the current state is
nearly ready, a redesign will delay the module
publication for several weeks. We will see ....
The manual gate module will cause no problems as it is
a very simple module concerning the electronics. As
soon as the final version is fixed (i.e. how many and
which type of buttons/outputs/LEDs) the module could
go into production very soon as we expect no
problems/redesigns of the electronics - in contrast to
more complicated modules like A-107 or A-154.
I also read some articles about chaos theory. We will
try some patches to simulate a chaotic voltage based
on the so-called "logistic equation" and on FM
cross-coupled VCOs. I have a "theoretical" A-100 patch
for the logistic equation but we did not yet test it
so far (I could put it on our web site or send it as
an email attachment if anyone is interested). We also
simulated the so-called "Chua's circuit" with Pspice.
This is a special kind of oscillator that generates
different chaotic or non-chaotic waveforms according
to the setting of a "chaos" parameter. Details for the
whole chaos area will follow as soon as we have the
first "real" results.
We are also about to design a prototype for a PLL
module. But I have no details so far. As soon as we
have a rough idea regarding the controls I will put a
front panel sketch and a short description on our web
site.
Best wishes
