Hello,
Thanks for the usefull information. The SKB website claims that the case
has 5" (127mm) of depth, so, hopefully, there will be ample room for the
powerone.
Ive had some dificulty, here in the uk, getting hold of a powerone for
another project. Plenty of places say that they have them, and then quote a
2 month lead time. Can i ask you where you got yours from
I shall have to give some though as to the mounting rails. Id like the
cosmetic appearance to be as nice as possible. The mounting rails that
you've pointed me to look exactly what are present in the G6 enclosures,
which is good because as the modules themselves are not actually exactly 3U
then anoying gaps would be left otherwise (which is normally taken by the
trim of the rail).
In an ideal world, ill be able to get some ears from somewhere. Failing
that, ill just go to my local aluminium place, but that wouldnt be ideal, as
then again, small gaps would be left.
Anyway, it all looks as if its more then possible. First steps will have to
be to find a powerone, and grab an skb case.
Cheers, julian

Hi Julian,
Electrically HBB15-1.5A will work fine, its a lower noise PSU than
standard Doepfer item - just don't forget to adjust the two presets
on psu to give +/- 12V before connecting any modules, as it is
factory preset for +/- 15V. Problem you may have is with depth, as
case you're suggesting doesn't look very deep. The HBB15 is 74mm
deep - I've mounted one into a standard doepfer 6U case, but I had
to take it out of its frame, turn the pcb through 90 degrees and fix
the power transistors to the case back panel to squeeze it in.
If you're in the UK try Farnell for the eurocard frames you need to
mount the modules, order code 418-2078 should work, made by Schroff,
it's 175mm deep, 3U 84hp frame (£35.17), or of you want to make your
own 19" rack ears then use 84 hole tapped strip code 208-437 (£2.47)
with front cross rails 461-842 (£6.36)
Cheers,
Allan
