Good job my error with the voltage was pointed out. Thankyou David.
What does however work out a bit cheaper, is either using wood, as David
suggested, or if you have a lo of modules, then schroff do 9u, and possibly
even 12u parts. Combine this with a powerone linier 12v (!) psu of he right
ampage, and youll have ample power to run the lot. Powerone does a 1.5amp
(1500mA) psu, but rememebr that additional ampage is not good if your prone
to connecting things up so as they short circuit. The rack hardware from
schroff would probably cost about £110 or so for 9u and the power one 1.5amp
i think the best i found was about £70 (one vat and delivery were in there
too), so i was looking at the best part or £200 , and that didnt include the
vecroboard and headers to make the bus board.
But..
The reason i was costing this all up was that the g6 and g3 enclosures are
pretty deep. I was wanting to make a shallower case to fit in an skb pop up
mixer case, for a realy nice system for live use. I may still do this.
As Bakis' mail from D.Doepfer says, there is little in the way of cash
savings. A bit, yes, but for quite a bit of hassel, if what your really
wanting is just a standard case.
