Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
Doepfer_a100 group:
Would you like Doepfer to release the
module described below
I suggested the module idea to Dieter
Doepfer and he suggested I make a poll to
see what the community thinks. This poll
might result in a new module!
A voltage controlled patch matrix, 12x12 or
larger, for routing signals without patch
cables and a preset save option.
The general idea would be similar to this
product by Analogue Solutions:
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~concuss/
concussor/pp.htm
But the Doepfer module would be smaller,
more simple and less expensive, and built
specifically to fit into the Doepfer framework.
A number of modules would have their in-
and outputs connected to the
matrix's in- and outputs, and connections
would be made internally without
the need for patch cords being moved. It
would be really interesting when one could
save the matrix settings and recall them,
instantly switching from one complex patch
to another one. "Scrolling" through these
presets could be voltage controlled by
LFO's, sequencers, MIDI>CV, a joystick, etc.
Especially for live use I think this would
increase the possibilities of the A-100
immensely, as patch changes will become
instantaneous. It would also have great
waveshaping possibilities (audio rate patch
switching )
If one had two or more of these vc audio
routers, different parts of the signal path
could be altered at different speeds by
voltage control.
So the module might have 12 inputs and 12
outputs (or 16, 24, ...) for
signals and one or more cv inputs.
o yes, it's a good idea
o no, i don't need it
o maybe
