hi folks, hi Bakis,
taht was my first thought, too when I saw the info on the power
consumption of the A-107 morph filter. 200mA for a 26U module That´s
like using one third of the power but using only one sixth of the space
of a G6.
Some of the most interesting [recent] modules consume lots of power
-A-155 sequencer :150 mA
-A-154 sequencer controller: 100 mA,
-A-113 subharmonic generator 150 mA,
-A-107 200 mA,
-A-127 triple resonance filter 100 mA,
so it is definitely time for a larger PSU!
I had the problem already two years ago with my basic vocoder modules
(180mA) and I have only a quite basic system with 3 VCOs... result: 20mA
too much :-(
I know that it is better to have more "smaller" PSUs than a large one,
as it is more stable. But have a look on dotcom´s PSU: DC Power
Output: +15V@1500ma, -15V@1500ma, +5V@6000ma. MOTM provides 800mA ,
Modcan 1,5 A.Okay, Blacet´s PSU has like 500 mA, but it has connectors
for six modules only.
So, folks what do you think about a 1 Ampere PSU
cheers,
Paul
