I am having no problems boosting the lower frequencies with higher
resonance settings on my A-121.
On the contrary I quite like how the A-121 attenuates the top end a
bit when fully anti clockwise.

Same here, I also have the A.Sys multimode filter that has 24dB/8ve
high pass and I almost always prefer the A-121 for high pass filter
tasks.
