I like the keyboard for the 2600 just fine, though I don't know if it can be used as a stand alone controller.
One bit of concern I might have is that it doesn't have the cable that connects it to th 2600.
I have never disconnected the keyboard and tried it unpowered BUT I would suggest that anyone with the intention should
find out whether it will work first.
