You do not have to swap the pot: Look at

The value of the resistor R5 defines the amount of the tuning range. The
less the resistors value the large is the range of the pot.

If you add an 1 megaohm resistor parallel to existig R5 (no unsoldering
required) the range of the pot is doubled.
