Fair enough.
Although more engineering required, the nice solution that Mackie have
used with a folding top section so that when rack mounted the top
rotates through 90 degrees so you have the plugs facing backwards,
probably add quite a bit of cost into the metal work.

Yeah, this i know, but the issue for me is not that i dont like
looking a the cables sticking out the top, but more that i dont like
the space that theyre wasting.
Yeah, yeah, i know its only 1u, but, in my limited space rack,
id rather use that 1u for good stuff ; )
Im not vain enough to buy a 1u 19" blank, which id be happy to
do, if i was that worried by the appearance...
