Hi Scott,
I remember a discussion on the synth diy list some years ago, where
someone complained, that the Doepfer ringmodulator has a bleed through,
while the ringmodulator of one of the famous manufacturers (I think moog
or buchla) does not. The result was, that this famous manufacturer
simply added a noisegate to his ringmodulator...
So this is a quite common trick.
