dieter says:
" We are still about to define the basics of the
TKB(e.g. it seems that more customers than we thought
want to have the pressure feature of the TKB).
For the 259 vco I think that it has no priority now as
it is available again from Buchla. It is not our
effort to enter into competition with Buchla -
especially not with a module that is based on Don
Buchlas idea like the 259. So far we developed some
modules that were inspired by Don Buchla's ideas but
only because the Buchla modules were no longer
available (e.g. the A-149-1). But now as Buchla is
back again something has changed for us. We will
probably finish the A-149-3 (fluctuating random
voltages) as we already have put a lot of work in it
but after that no longer start with new Buchla
inspired modules. I'm interested what the group
members think about that. From my point of view it is
not a good business style to offer modules inspired by
competitor if he is still on the market (resp. back on
the market). With MS-20 or Wasp inspired modules I do
not have this scruples as they are no longer
available.
We are also doing some basic researches concering BBD
modules as one customer told us that there is a
company in USA that manufactures BBDs again.
We are about to draw the sketches for the new
manuals(for a101-1, a101-2, a152). After this, the
words will come. But I think it will take at least 2
weeks until the first manual will be available"
WHAT IS YOUR COMMENTS I THINK THAT THE FUTURE 259
BASED DOEPFER VCO MODULE IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE A100!
ALMOST NO-ONE COULD AFFORD THE NEW BUCHLA VCO MODULES,
SO, FOR MOST OF US, THEY ARE NOT AN OPTION AT ALL. MY
OPINION IS THAT THE DOEPFER -BUCHLA 259 BASED- VCO
MODULE SHOULD BE RELEASED!
