Yes the s100 does sound warmer than the s100m, after what I've read it has
the same filters as the 303! As far as the s700 I couldn't tell, haven't
heard one. But I've been happy with it for several years now, plenty of
grunt, though I must say the mixer section is a bit rumbly at times.
Re using the 104 seq. with MIDI I have lots of fun syncing it up via my
Kenton Pro Solo (though lack of multiples made me use home made Y-cables in
some occasions, not the best looking but whata heck... :-) I don't have MIDI
on my Doepfer system, but I can't see why the 190 should perfom less than my
cheap pro solo..
Your missing module, the 103 mixer, isn't really something to miss, though
the built in spring reverb is among the worst I've heard, and quite fun to
use only therefore... but of course it looks very neat powered on and
stacked together with the rest, analog backlit VU:s are always nice!!
