I have been looking at the A127, along with similar Korg PS style
filters from a couple of other modular makers, as a complex evolving
pad filter. The on-board LFOs are not really up to the task. I
believe something like the following would give a very flexible
evolving pad 'template' patch:
----------------------------------
A180 multiples with 3 trigger outs
first trigger to input 1 on A143/2
second trigger to top input on A162 trigger delay then to input 2 on
A143/2
third trigger to bottom input on A162 trigger delay then to input 3
on A143/2
end of release on all 3 EGs is fed back to its own retrigger
output 1-2-3 on A143 to CV input 1-2-3 on A127 respectively
----------------------------------
If the bottom of A162 is set to twice the delay of the top and all 3
EGs are set the same then you get simply 3 filters 'chasing' each
other. Of course setting them differently as well as changing the
settings during long note playback should give a very wide array of
continuously evolving sounds. For a long time I have wanted this kind
of arrangement without having to sell my car to pay for it. Now the
A143 looks like I can do it.
