shawn,
i`ll have to take a look at the website !
i know there was a poll on the doepfer list about a sw radio module a while
back.
such a module could be great fun !!! i "came to" electronic music about 30
years ago from a ham radio background. all my e.m. for several years was done
with old radio stuff, junk tape recorders, etc. used my old sw reciever as part
of my setup for years until it finally gave up. have a little cheapo portable
now thats adequate but not great.
for those of us in the u.s. - sometimes sw reception can be poor (not
necessarily a *bad thing* as sometimes the distortions / fadings, etc. give useful
sounds), i had to string a simple long wire along my roof to get anything good -
but have you ever thought about the humble am radio lots of the same sorts
of sounds that you get from sw but with better reception and a $5 transistor
unit is often enough.
if you live in an area that is not rf rich, check out vlf recievers - there
is at least one good website with sound samples and schematics - some of this
stuff is wild ! me
i live about 1000ft. from andrews air base in suburban maryland and my
enviroment is too cluttered for the vlf stuff. oh well.........
best to all -
dave
