I've just tested my bd909 module with a 1ms pulse and a 50ms pulse,
using shorter pulse it's tighter and has more punch, at 50ms or
longer it's a longer splat sound, definately different. You'd need
to try it for yourself to see if that is what you're looking for.
There's probably a cap change that could help. I think the worst
offender for pulse length is the sd808, with longer pulses it hardly
triggers at all and sounds very different. Best way really is to use
a midi to trigger unit to fire the concussor modules, as these
generally have pretty short pulse lengths.
