All great ideas, I'd make one..... But to clarify, you're talking
about a rather wide face plate, with the sockets connected, all the
electronics and 40 open holes All for 25 euros. Sounds good to
me. And the polarity would be a great feature.
A few ideas: a knob set, connectors to link units for 10x8(if
possible), 5x16, etc for those with enough room, and some sort of
writable surface around the X and Y or at least enough room to put
some DIY labels.
This still won't satisfy the pin matrix gang though. I don't know if
this site has been mentioned before on this forum, perhaps its
creator is even a member, but I saw this last night.

This looks like one option for a pin matrix, although it is still
DIY, of course. There are some steps in this plan that will dissuade
some people, like making the patch pins. Maybe if I make a custom
case I will make one of these but with G6s it doesn't seem to make
much sense for the way my system is configured. Actually I take that
back, but it all depends on how big the pin sockets are..... I could
have one 3U matrix in each of my G6s for ceratin features, but only
if it was hardwired and then the warranties are shot. I'm not sure
I'm ready to void my whole system yet.
Anyway, just rambling now.
Dieter thanks again for your help this morning.
