The A-174 electronics is very simple and has no secrets (nothing but an
inverting amplifier with adjustable offset and amplification, for details
please refer to the A-100 DIY page on our web site). It should be no problem
to change the values of the resistors in question (or better to replace them
by trimming potentiometers) to use any joy-stick provided that it is
equipped with linear potentiometers. But you will have to do some trial and
error (or mathematics) to make the A-174 cooperate with any linear
joy-stick. I could publish the schematics and silk-screen of the A-174 if
you are interested.
