I think Florian is right...16*4= 64 potentiometers cost quite some cash.
I haven't seen the inside of the 154, but i PRESUME it has a 4 bit
counter inside for the adressing ..so basically you would connect 16*4
pots to 4 16<->1 analog switch-ICs that you can control with these 4
bits...but in reality it will most likely be a whole lot more
electronics than just these switches and pots
