I've got one of the Analogue Solutions spring
reverbs mounted in a suitcase with the old power
supply. In its initial mounting position (vertically
against the far side of the back panel) I was getting
a lot of hum. I ended up mounting it as far from the
PSU as possible - upside-down on the top panel. I
drilled four screws through the top of the suitcase
and into the mounting holes on the reverb tank.
There's still a tiny bit of noise but it's not bad at
all. I could still convince myself to buy $20 of foil
from that mu-metal supplier, though.
