Phil,
The Doepfer suitcase solutions do work well in the studio. In fact, I would
go so far as to say that the Super Suitcase (
http://www.analoguehaven.com/doepfer/supercase/)
is too big to go outside of
the studio! I think it weighs something on the order of 70lbs *empty*!
Another alternative is to look into the Analogue Systems RS8000 or RS8500
case. You will need to get some adapter boards for Doepfer modules unless
they are putting the newer ASys power supplies in there with Doepfer
connectors.
