I would definitely prefer the internal VCO to be 1V/oct. There's nothing to stop the unit having an external clk input and use whatever is available for the more experimental sounds.
I suppose it's also possible to do it the other way round, use an existing VCO and the external source

if i remember correctly, at the musikmesse Dieter spoke about a
karplus-strong module, so i think there will be one additionally to the
bbd-delay. if so, i would definitely prefer a wide-range, non-exact
1v/oct control....for complete and utter destruction of sound :-)
