Hi fellas.
Maybe I should say hi again to the ones who remember me from last year.
Since then I have invested in some non doepfer filter units.
1 Allen & Heath VF-1 (stereo valve filter with midi+env.follower+1LFO)
2 Analogue systems FB3 MkII - triple filterbank with master VCF for allt
three serial connected fltrs.
I´m so pleased with these units, but it´s not enough, especially because of
the A&H filter has 24dB slope only in mono-mode. Buying another unit would
of course solve the problem but all that $$$ could probably be more
"creatively" invested in some A-100 modules. So that´s what brought me here
again. At least I will need an MCV4 to get midi-control of the AS
filterbank, and since I have to do that , it seems quite logical to try a
doepfer filter too. (which I until now have avoided because I have been a
little bit afraid of the amount of technique/studiospace) It´s very hard
though, to get a clue of, what to start with. Close reading of the
Doepfer-site has made me interested in the 107-multitype morphing filter,
mainly because I have the idea that an Oberheim Xp-like filter is what my
setup needs, and not go look for the extremefltr-ms20 or the mooglike
filters, (although they indeed are tempting too...) Regarding modulation
sources I have decided to wait for the possible 143-4 to come - and stick
with the possibilities that the midi-CV interface will give. So this is what
my questions to you guys are about.
1. Is it realistic thinking to go buy only one filter+netzteil+MCV4, will
those three be enough to gain some reasonable power out of a complex module
like A107-multitypemorphingfltr Or what would you suggest me to add to this
mini-rack...
2. Is there a better choice of filter from doepfer do you think. (maybe
waspfilter.... )
Thanks for your concerns, reading this far!
