Also, you can buy "stripped screw remover bits" at a hardware store.
It's incredibly handy to keep at least one of these around. Though your
screw sounds like it's overtightened instead of stripped, the principal
is the same and it should provide enough torque to get it out. Just
make sure you get a small enough bit.
