Probably this is the reason for the fault and the blown fuses. The
transformer is available as a spare part so that you are able to use the old
power supply in the future as soon as the transformer is replaced (the
transformer is much cheaper than a new PSU). If the pcb of the defectice PSU
is already suitable for the ring core transformer you may replace the
standard transformer by the ring core type to obtain a PSUII (that's the
only difference). These type of PSU pcb can be identified by a hole (~ 5 mm
diameter) under the transformer that is used to mount the ring core
transformer.
