Hello!
I cant´t find any sound examples of the vactrol multimode and low pass gate.
I can´t decide whether I should buy 1 Steiner multitype module or 2 Low pass
gates. Anyone have links for A 101:s mp3:s
Right know I believe that second choice will gain most fun, and of course it
serves stereo applications, which is important to me because I´m more into
performance than programming-composing.
I have decided to leave all thoughts of additional filters, including
waspfilter which was initially on the list. This is because of my leaking
economy, and that I have 2 stereo-filters and 1 mono-filter already from
other manufacturers. (Allen&Heath, Mutronics, Analogue-Systems)
I will soon, maybe very soon, go shopping at thomann. The most important
purpose of my first mini-system is (as I described some weeks ago) to
achieve a "channel swapper", 2 sources X-fading between two outputs
(left-right) - panning with inverted phase relations, so that both appear at
both outputs in a mix when cv-source is in the mid pos. Increasing the ampl.
of cv (probably lfo) should make them start swapping, and in the max voltage
they are increasingly lonesome / separated at left and right, swapping.
I wouldn´t mind this function to be realized in one single module some day,
but someone argued against this idea, saying it´s too single-purposed and
putting all the modules that this demands using the existing a100:s,
separated, will make the system more versatile. Well, I will soon find out,
and it´s quite obvious that there are advantages with this. In all other
aspects than rack space and money expence...
But another point of view (contra. the multi-module / single purpose
argument) comes to my mind; The stereo channel swap-module could be seen as
the origin of panning, and the common panners are just stereo-tremelos with
inverted VC for left and right. So if you want to do that with the "urban"
panner that I fantasize of, you will easily manage by just removing/muting
one input. Soon to realize you want it back I suspect.
So, today my preliminary shopping cart contains:
1x Netzteil ´
1x Bus plate
2x VC-Panning
2x multiples
1x dual voltage inverter (for various CV:s (my AS filter and Mutator (no
midi) need that to)
2x vactrol LP gates ---ALT--- 1x vactr.steiner multitype
1x ADSR, (intended for the the LP-gate for percussive triggering)
No LFO No, I hope for the multiple synced 143-4 to show up, otherwise I
will stick with the onboard LFO of Kenton PRO solo mkII that I got the other
week. Hopefully I will penetrate the sysex inferno, and gain some reasonable
midi-ctrl of the LFO speed and LFO max/min, clock dividing e t c.(((Anyone
have experience Please shout to me very loud because I¨m dying on that
f--g sysex s--t and Cubase SX Device panels sysex-editors)))
Other reason to stay with just a few modules is to advance after I have some
experience. (Never met anyone who owns a single synth-module or even a met a
PC-musician, Im in the dark.. well,at least I live far from the city.
Thanks for your concern!
