Hello
check the manual: Editing the JX3P works now completely different.
Each tone consists now of 96 parameters (before 32). Those are organised
again in 6 parameter groups with 16 parameters in each group. To speak
the truth: there are only 82 parameters at the moment, because some
parameter locations are unused. But that should not disturb you - those
are kept free for new features in future versions.
The parameter groups are named A, B, C, D, AA, and BB.
To edit a tone do the following
* Press Tape -> Tape will flash
* Press ToneWrite -> ToneWrite will flash
* Select a parameter group with bank buttons A, B, C, D -> the bank LED
will flash. (To select group AA or BB, simply press "A" or "B"
respectively twice. The corresponding bank LED will flash fast.)
* Select a parameter number with buttons 1 - 16 -> the number LED will flash
* Also one number LED will be lit continuously. This LED marks the
actual value of the selected parameter.
* Edit the parameter with the sens slider.
Some remarks have to be done to changing the value with the slider. This
will come soon. Also the parameters will be explained later in detail.
If you want to change now another parameter simply select a different
parameter group and a different parameter number. If the other parameter
is in the same parameter group, you only have to select the new
parameter number. Now edit the new parameter as described above.
If you have adjusted the sound as you want it, then you can write it
again into the memory. There are two possibilities: you write it to the
tone number were the original tone was stored, or you write it to a
different tone number.
Example1: write to the original location:
* Press ToneWrite -> ToneWrite flashes fast and Bank LED and Number LED
of the original location are lit.
* Press the lit number button -> ToneWrite stops flashing. The original
tone is overwritten now.
Example2: write to a different location:
* Press ToneWrite -> ToneWrite flashes fast and Bank LED and Number LED
of the original location are lit.
* Select the bank of the new location as described at "selecting a tone"
* Press the number button of the new location -> ToneWrite stops
flashing. The tone is written now to the new memory location. The
original tone is still available.
Now the mentioned remark on the slider: The slider will not change the
value immediately, but you have to "pick" it from the actual parameter
value.
Example: The continous LED is at numer 10. The Sense slider is at the
lowest position. If you move the slider slowly up nothing will happen,
until the slider has reached a position of a little above the center
position. There the slider will "pick" the value, then start to change
it, the LED will follow now the slider - either you continue moving up
and the parameter will get higher, or you move the slider now down again
and the parameter will get lower.
This is different from the editing behaviour of the original JX-3P, but
you will get used to it soon.
Attention: if you enter a sequence (or arpeggio, chordmemory,
pattern,...) you will leave the edit mode. The edited tone still is
active and you still may write the tone, but if you want to edit another
parameter after writing the sequence, you have to re-enter the edit mode
with:
* Press Tape
* Press ToneWrite
* Select a parameter group with buttons A, B, C, D
* Select a parameter number with buttons 1 - 16
