That sounds like a good idea. If there is no major disagreement I will put it in the next release.

I'm usually working on a patch and sequence simultaneously. Often while creating a patch I'll start/stop the sequencer. I forget I'm automatically out of edit tone mode - then accidentally switch to a new patch losing my changes in the edit buffer while I think I'm selecting a new tone parameter.

Yes it's pilot error but it would be really great if start/stop seq didn't kick you out of edit tone mode.
