Subject: Re: [kiwitechnics] PE + DW-8000 + MOTU + Ableton Live
try this:
MIDI Out DW-8000 -> MIDI In MOTU
MIDI Out PE -> MIDI In DW-8000
MIDI Out MOTU -> MIDI in PETurn off Local Mode/Keyboard on the DW if you can. Otherwise you might get "MIDI echo" when playing the DW with the keys and not sequenced from the DAW.James
Hey all -
Time for a really stupid question.
I want to hook up the PE to my DW-8000 and also sequence it from Ableton Live.
I have a MOTU UltraLite mk3 I'm using for the MIDI interface.
I have the DW-8000 working with Live 8.3 as I'm able to record and playback MIDI clips. I cannot, however, get the DW-8000 to respond to the PE.
I have set the Parameters on the DW per the manual and I have the PE set to MIDI CH 1.
I'm probably doing something really dumb, but am currently recovering from a concussion suffered during a car accident so all of this is making my brain hurt to just think about!
Here's how I have the MIDI cables hooked up:
MIDI Out DW-8000 -> MIDI In PE
MIDI Out PE -> MIDI In MOTU
MIDI Out MOTU -> MIDI in DW-8000
I have a MIDI track in Ableton Live setup to get MIDI input from all available inputs and send MIDI output back to the MOTU's MIDI Port.
What stupid thing have I done here? :-)
Thanks!
