Trying to update my PE tonight and cannot get the PE to listen to the MIDI sysex.

Bootloader is v2.9c, I can enter update mode but I'm stuck in the "Waiting for Data" screen.   I've tried sending a bootloader update with MIDI OX (Win 10) with a MIDIMAN 2x2 interface.   Interface and drivers are working and sending notes as well as sysex.   I've played around with the buffer size with no joy.  

I suspect there's an issue with the MIDI IN port on the PE.  Is there a way to monitor incoming MIDI  activity on the PE? (V4.8)
