Tony, I didn't try a previous version since I can't select the Load Bank B button on power up as when I do power up all the LEDs are all on and the synth seems tobe frozen from the start. I will try again though.

Pragmatrax, thanks for the settings for midi Ox. I will try those. Yes I use midi Ox and the settings have already been adjusted but perhaps not enough.

I eill give it a dry run, although when I tried updating the Kiwisix program firmware MidiOx did complete sending. The LEDs 1 to 8 then started the process and going through the update sequence, however about half way through they froze with LEDs 123 and 678 on, I think it was those but can't remember exactly. Anyway after I waited for about 5 mins they didn't update any further so I shut off the synth. I then powered on again and it seemed to start ok the first time, but when I then tried to do factory restore 1, I found thst the bank button D didn't flash on and off as it was supposed to, so I thought maybe something had just stuck, and powering off then back on would fix this. Sadly, when I did power on again the synth was completely frozen with all those LEDS On. But I will try as you suggest and see if I have any success.
