Yes-but the M1k is kind-of a pain to use with remote editors.
You have to understand how to send NRPN parameters, and I knew of several people who had problems getting the Matrix 1k
to respond to them, even though the manual says it is capable of it.
I have this knob box, and it's fine for sending regular CCs, program changes, notes, short sysex strings, and NRPNs.
You might want to post this on Analogue HEaven to see if you can get a more specific answer regarding the Matrix 1000 & NRPNs.
Also try Xpansions, the Xpander mailing list. You can post questions for any OB Matrix synth there.
I made an editor for the Matrix 6R using the Peavey PC1600, just using sysex. It should work on the M1k, because their midi implementation is supposed to be the same (excpet the Matrix 6 doesn't recognize NRPN's), but I don't remember if I tried editing the M1K parametets with the PC1600.
I don't have the M1k nor the M6r any more, so I cannot try it know.
