I have my own pacth libraries from back then, but never got the factory one. I bought MY OBX from Jaz Coleman from Killing Joke, and he didn't use the instrument as a polyphonic keyboard mostly. He used unison and switched presets as he went from one group of notes to another, like moving from string to string on a cello or guitar. He also used a JC120, not my kind of sound, but brilliant players do what they like.
The patches are on cassette, but not immediately to hand. When I got the OBXa I transferred all the libraries in groups, moving each set of 32 further in to the OBXa, clearing way for the next set. There were lots of duplicates and when I tried to further organize them with internal copying, it got a bit muddled. However what I learned was, you can use an OBXa set of patches and it will load although not quite how you might hope, and of course without X mod, and with 4pole filter substituted( ) some sounds are odd. Try the factory OBXa in the files section first, that'll get you somewhere better than no sounds at all. I've attached the one from my archive which works from a laptop with the 3.5mm link cable if you're lucky. Turn the volume full up for the xfer, then don't forget to back it off after, it's a nasty noise that won't do your speaker any good. |
