I think that the reference to source code is to this site:
-due to the use of the term in the midi spec, and the authors extensive analysis of the firmware, probably by disassembly.

You mean the disassembled ROM files You'll have to find a 68B09 assembler and do it yourself. If anyone had hacked the code to make it better(if that's possible) They would be selling a new OS Eprom as I'm sure plenty of people would want one, and would pay money for it.

Actually, those are the binaries of the roms, not the source.
Aparently (I saw it on a forum, so how true it is, im not sure) the actual source code was floating around. So, if anyone has seen that...
