Matrix 6's have notorious power supply issues. Upgrade all the capacitors & pull and reseat all the connectors. Use some vaseline or bulb grease to keep corrosion from coming back.
If that doesn't do it pull and reseat all the CEM chips. Do this as a last resort due to the rarity of these items. Those chips are like $60 each, when you can find them, so use ESD safe procedures and an actual IC puller. if you do it by hand you will break off pins and send the chip flying across the room.

I've seen this exact same thing. It must be a common problem.
Mine worked sporadically after the cable was reconnected. I returned it and
got two Matrix 1000s
