Hi all,
after fixing the issue around a blown CA3080 I have one question about the volume settings on the voice board.
On my OB the cards do have a different output level even with the individual volume pots on each card fully up. So of course I could lower the volume of the louder card to match the volume of the quiter one but I would like to have a better balance and a better match right away.
May be it is just the trimpots being out of spec after all these years or not well in tolerance already when new. Anyway, I would really need to understand what output voltage is to be expected with master and card volumes maxed out in order to have a point of reference for the calibration.
On a side note I do hear some slight clipping/distortion on the louder card which seems to happen before the final trimpot. Nothing that worries me as it gives the OB8 a tad rawness but I would like to know what could be causing it in case I change my mind to get rid of it.
Would be great if anyone could chime in here....
Thx
Tom
