MIDI always starts with 00 and goes to 127. So, there's several things to
look at. First, where does the synth start
IF it starts with 01, then
adjust everything down one. Then, where does your sequencer start
If it
starts at 01, adjust everything up by one on your module. So:
Sequencer starts at 00, module starts at 00: Module is as the sequencer.
Sequencer starts at 00, module starts at 01: Send one program change lower
than the number on the module.
Sequencer starts at 01, module starts at 00: Send one program change higher
than the module patch number.
Sequencer starts at 01, module starts at 01: Send the change number on the
module. No change needed.
I have a master patch list in Excel that has what sending a program change
will do on all my gear. (I have a large amount of it) This makes things a
lot easier and I never have to think about it.

If you look at the Matrix 6R (supposed to be identical to the Matrix
6) here:

it appears that the Matrix 6 starts patch numbering with 0. It's possible
that Cubase might map 1 to 0 (I don't know). In any case, if you want to
send patch 22, I would think that you wouldn't have try any thing but 21 or
22, and see if you get the desired patch.
Hope this helps.

Do I just select a program number, or do I select a
