Chris,
I have an ob-x and somewhere I have a .wav file that contains the original factory presets.
Also, I have a hard copy of the original factory presets for the OB-Xa. My OB-X has many mods (inc lots of memory) so I manually programmed all of the OB-Xa sounds in to my OB-X by hand.
Of note - I found BOTH these items for free just by searching the internet. Please just try searching and if you can't find the .wav I will try to track it down and e-mail it.
Unfortunately, my cassette interface no longer works so I can't just dump my patches to a .wav and send them to you...sorry. (I replaced all the ICs in the modem, but it still does not work properly, so it must be a bad cap, and I just can't track it down...)
The .wav file was on my laptop three computers ago and I couldn't find it on my current machine or backup drive....please search
you will need these:

Hi folks,
I recently acquired a four voice Oberheim OB-X and thought I'd join the
group. I've wanted an OB-X ever since I heard one used on Killing
Joke's "Night Time" album, and it's only taken me eighteen years to
fulfil that dream! I did have the opportunity to buy an OB-Xa
several years ago (allegedly, it was once owned by Lol Tolhurst of The
Cure), but passed it up in the hope of one day finding an OB-X.
Anyway, my main reason for posting is to ask if anyone can provide a
WAV file or similar of the factory patches. My Obie was completely
overhauled before I received it, erasing the patches. I'm having a
great time programming my own sounds, but I'd like to hear what the
original patches sounded like, and have the opportunity to use them as
the basis for further programming.
Regards,
Chris
