test

I used a 24 pin out from my 707 to do circuit bending mods before. The jack would typically go to an external patchbay. You should open it up and see where the wires go. If the wires go to IC34 or IC35 (on the lower left of the circuit board) then that's probably what it is. If you do open it up, take more photos and send them.

Subject: [tr-707] new member / noisy main outs / mysterious mod

Hi all, new member here.

So I bought a Roland TR-707 with two issues:

1/ There's this weird crackly noise that comes out of both the headphone jack and the main L+R outputs. However, the individual instrument outputs are fine.

2/ At some point in this beast's history, someone has tried to mod it. There's this 15-pin jack coming out the back. Anybody have any idea what this mod might be Can I take advantage of it Might it be related to the problem of noisy main outs If I wanted to undo it, would that be onerous
