Hello EvelynA.
1) I would start by checking the power supply.
- Are you sure it is working
- Does it provide the correct voltage
- Is the polarity of the power supply compatible with your TR-707
2) If the power supply is not the cause, check the PSU jack socket.
- Is it corroded / dirty inside
- If so, that can prevent current from flowing into your 707.
3) If the PSU jack socket is fine from the outside, you might then have to carefully dismantle your 707 to check the underside of the circuit board on which the PSU jack socket is mounted.
- Inspect and/or test the soldered joints. - Are they sound, or has the jack socket become disconnected
4) If you can prove that there's nothing wrong with the PSU jack socket and its connections, move on to the power switch and test that.
Good luck.
MDA.
