I had the same problem with the 707 loosing all patches, the problem and solution are quite simple.

It is very probably corrosion of the battery compartment, the cable that connects the batteries to the main board. Check if the soldering of this cable is corroded, if so, simply disconnect, clean the corrosion and re solder it.
