I guess i have similar trouble.
I'm trying to record midi signal to my MPC1000. and work on my tracks in that way. but i can't record midi signal :(
I choose different midi channels but i guess i don't know something about transmitting midi on my 707.
i checked midi signal in ableton - it shows no midi. Also i sync my 707 with MPC, and it synced as it should, so i guess all my leads are okay.
Anybody knows how to resolve my fail
