I think you have to have batteries in the unit in order for it to remember patterns. (pg.5 of the manual) Or you can store then on a cartridge. (pg.s 35-36) Or save them to to a tape back-up for longer term storage.(pgs. 31-34)

Hi
I have just bought a vintage 707 and after reading the user manual cannot find how to save patterns.
I normally use it in step mode but whenever i shut off the machine i lose the pattern that i did.
