Greetings,
I have picked up a few 707s over the years for cheap due to the fact that they would not power up. Usually this has been a case of replacing the rusty power input and then cleaning up contacts and faders with deoxit.
I've recently picked up a 727 that was not powering up but this time it appears that the fused R49 blew at some point. I was able to get power on by jumping the fuse and it has now passed all tests. I'm now able to program rhythms, but there is still no sounds from any of the outputs, headphone or individual outs other than some clicking that doesn't seem to be effected by the main volume at all. Not a good sign. The volume board is the likely culprit and I will probably just work my way back from the outputs but if anyone has any tips or points that should be tested, please let me know. There do seem to be a few common points of failure on these, but this project just got a little harder than I was expecting. Thanks for any help. I just need some star chime and bongos in my life!
