Yes I did have midi connected before. Do you think that was causing it

Another question you might be able to help with is, I believe this has always been the case with my 707. When I play pattern from the inbuilt sequencer everything sounds perfect. However if I sequence a drum pattern in Ableton or any other DAW and send it to the 707, say a simple 2 bar loop. I'm experiencing random volume jumps on certain hits, this is really noticeable on the ride. For example a simple 4/4 house pattern with 16th ride notes, all the midi notes are definitely the same velocity in Ableton, however randomly some ride notes are a fair bit louder than others.

Any input on how to start diagnosing this would be greatly appreciated :)
